To appreciate the true meaning of ‘ocean view’ you just need to cross the threshold of the luxurious Villa Tanamera. The brilliant Indian Ocean, stretching beyond Surin Bay, is on display from every room in this high quality home.

Built on the edge of a wooded headland, sloping down to the sea, Tanamera is the perfect family retreat, with comfortable space for 10 guests, but with many hideaway areas for quiet tropical reflection.

The villa consists of 4 different levels. The lowest level, shaded by a large coral tree and cooled by the on shore breeze, provides perfect solitude with its distinctive ‘opium den’.

On higher levels, is a 25 metre swimming pool and the main sleeping accommodation. All 5 bedrooms are bright and airy, and connect onto open balconies and walkways; they also have the privacy of en-suite bathrooms.

Designed with many interesting features, the master bedroom, for instance, has a delightful sunken outdoor bath tub. The villa offers air conditioning, a fully staffed kitchen, maid service and a complimentary car. The whole character of the property is enhanced by many exquisite examples of Thai artworks and paintings.

Located just off the west coastal road, in the heart of the Island’s fashionable rivera area, Villa Tanamera overlooks Surin Bay and the Amanpuri peninsula. 25 minutes from the airport and within easy driving distance of Phuket’s lively sunset beaches.

WALK THROUGH DESCRIPTION

This individual owned house set on one acre of private lush tropical land is nestled into the sea cliff overlooking the Andaman Sea offering commanding views of Surin Beach and facing the famous Amanpuri Hotel. Asian artifacts and antiques decorate this traditional Thai home with all the modern comforts to be home away from home.

The villa is built on 5 levels.

Level 1
On opening the two beautifully carved wooden doors, you will be greeted by a breath -taking view of the Andaman Sea and sweet smelling creeper plants softening the lush landscape. To the right is a fully functional and up to hotel standard kitchen catering for all the luxury style with every possible amenities.

Level 2
On walking down a series of small steps are three large bedrooms all housed in their individual traditional Thai Teak paneled Pavilions. Each room is beautifully and tastefully decorated with Jim Thompson silks and antique furniture. Each bedroom has a raised king-sized bed, a private balcony, all with en-suite bathrooms and a walk-in wardrobe. Satellite TV, DVD, Sound system, safe and complimentary mini bar is provide in all the rooms. There are two master bedrooms. One has a four poster bed, leading into walk- in bathroom which leads to an outside sunken marbled bath nestled in the lush trees providing a secluded and romantic environment. The other master bedroom is larger in size and offers a magnificent view of the ocean. The bedroom has sliding doors to the balcony allowing you to lie asleep at night with the gentle roar of the sea.

Level 3
Down another level of steps you will find the relaxed but sophisticated dining and living room with large wooden ceiling fans and sliding doors that open on all sides to allow the gentle breeze to circulate in this room. All the sofa and curtain fabrics are decorated in white and cream Jim Thomson fabrics to offer a cool and light atmosphere. Antique artifacts and paintings decorate this room. A dining table suitable for entertaining up to 10 people and a large coffee table with 6 antique children stools tucked underneath the table for when the children wish to join in. There is a sound system with connects to all the outside areas allowing music to flow freely throughout the house. To the left of the dining room is an outside balcony area set up with a log trestle table with an umbrella offering casual dining for up to 6 people with two sun-loungers. To the right of the dining room is an under covered but open air dining area offering casual dining for up to 10 people. Surrounded by beautiful antique statues and wall artifacts and an outdoor sound system.

Level 4
To the lower level is a 25 meter swimming pool which at night time is a negative edge waterfall feature and is framed by romantic lighting shinning on the antique wall artifacts. The sundeck has 6 sun-loungers, an outdoor shower and a downstairs bathroom/changing room. Overlooking the pool is the fourth bedroom with sliding wooden doors leading to the pool. This room is designed for two single beds with an en-suite bathroom although this can be made easily into a Queen Size bed. This room has a TV, DVD, complimentary mini-bar, stereo system and safe. Outside this room is a large outdoor sitting area for relaxing or casual dining. Inside a large white trunk is an assortment of pool toys for the children including swimming armbands.

Level 5
Leading down from the pool you will find a peaceful sala area for those intimate dinners for two. This entire downstairs area is on the beach line with step access down to the beach via a scramble over the rocky shoreline you will reach Surin Beach. This area has a fully functionally study, library and reading area on a beautiful antique opium day bed (this can be used as the fifth bedroom and is suitable for one person). There is a shower and bathroom facilities. In the store cupboard is a sea kayak for those adventurous guests. Outside the study underneath the large tree, and where the wind blows gently and you can hear the roar of the sea we have set up a massage bed for those totally relaxing moments.

Bedroom Facilities
Each bedroom has air conditioning, coded safes, a music system and a mini bar (filled with drinks and snacks). The house includes comprehensive PABX phone systems with private telephones to each room. Satellite television, DVD players and UBC (the local cable connection) are provided in all rooms. A comprehensive collection of DVD’s and CD’s disk is available for the movie watching nights.

Other Facilities
The pool area and main dining area has a fully functional stereo system. On the lower level is an Australian barbecue, spa massage bed, study and library. The house is our home and therefore holds a large array of beautiful antiques and woodcarvings

Housekeeping
In-house laundry service. Outside dry-cleaning. The cook can cater for most tastes. All sheets and towels are provided.

Garden
The house is surrounded by trees and lush vegetation. The front car park area and lower beach area boasts beautiful frangipani’s along with an array of white bougainvillea throughout all the levels of the house.

Staff
House Manager/driver, 1 maid, 1 cook, night guard and part-time gardener. 24 hour staffing is available.

Babysitting can be arranged upon request. Complimentary scooter, car and driver are available. Use of a rental vehicle can also be arranged.

To the Beach
North of the house is a 5 minute walk to Surin Beach. Access to this beach can be reached via a staircase from the lower level of the house. Another 5 minutes to the south of the house is Lamsing Beach.

Insurance
There is no personal accident insurance for guests staying at the house therefore we advise you to arrange your own. The owners will not unfortunately accept any responsibility for any loss or damage incurred by a guest during their stay.
